About

Once fully launched, the Bias Response Team will:

  • Utilize staff experts to provide facilitation to mediate and to repair harm between involved parties
  • Create and hold space for involved parties to dialogue, express perspectives, communicate needs for safety and respect, and learn skills to support inclusive environments using foundations of restorative justice
  • Accurately collect data of bias incidents consistently across all schools and academic programs to access and capture climate issues across UCSF

Interventions Provided by Team:

  • Consultation – Provide respondents with individual consultation, listening to their concerns and informing them of their options.
  • Facilitation – Serve as a facilitator and hold space for involved parties to discuss the event, and provide education on diversity and equity themes
  • Restorative Practices:
  1. Community Circles –An inclusive facilitated space to discuss a topic
  2. Restorative Circles –A facilitated community space to address and repair harm
  3. Restorative Justice Conference –A facilitated space where an individual takes responsibility and addresses harm done
